So what exactly is Falling Alice all about? We're three bored teenagers with too much time on our hands selling t-shirts and accessories we created ourselves. We love hearts, butterflies, teapots, victorian dresses, finnish cookies, and man-eating rabbits with sharp fangs <3 Yes, we're a bit mad here but, that's precisely what we aim for.
Falling Alice started when Matoki got the idea for a t-shirt company. Having a love for
art and design, she used her skill and odd sense of humor to create super cute designs (though
she describes them as "macabre"). But Matoki couldn't run this business alone, thus Mai and Co-chan
joined the Falling Alice Team! She got Mai to help out with designs and to manage the site, and
Co-chan to manage the finance and also to help out with the site. But the company also needed
a name. So after a long debate (and many taken domains), we picked Falling Alice since we
loved the whimsical oddities of Alice in Wonderland. Or maybe because the name was short and could
fit on a button.
Our idea of t-shirts crashed when we ran into finacial problems. We then came up with the
idea for buttons instead, and used that as our focus. We opened our shop on August 14, 2009,
and began to sell our pins. Having been a hit at our school and even shipping to various places
around the US, we found a way to meet our original goal of selling t-shirts! Now, we've shifted our focus
back to girls' t-shirts while still selling buttons as a limited accessory item.
Ever since we've been attempting to branch out even more with our shop. Now we're beginning
to add tote bags and jewelry. We hope to be able to add even more items such as scarfs, hats,
plushies, and anything else we can think of! We've gotten a lot of support so far, and we hope
we can contiune to grow!
